Deleting old iPhone and iPad backups in itunes on a Mac.

You might want to clean out all old back-ups of iPhones and iPads.

Run Software Update on the Mac that you back up to all the time.  It should have your music/photos/mail on it.  

Make sure iTunes is up to date.

Run update on your Phone or iPad from iTunes.  iOS 5 is seeing reduced battery life on iPhone 4 by the way...

Sync iphone/ipad first….

In iTunes go to prefs>devices and you can click on and delete them there.

Then delete ALL back-ups… (the iPhone/ipad has all the data, a back up is just a back up)

Then Sync again.

Now its all cleaned up.

**I have a 16gb iPhone and a 32gb iPad and both are full of music and photos and a few apps.  Photos/Music reside in other locations so backups shouldn't be that large, it is just backing up address books, mail (attachments) etc….  I see with 2 back ups stored its almost 2 gigs of data.  If you had many iPhones, iOSs and iPads it could be very very large.

Oh, and for you nerds out there the User Library folder is now HIDDEN in 10.7 (thank you apple).  You can find it by clicking on the desktop.  THEN holding down the option key and navigating up to GO on the top bar.  You will see the Library in the list of things there.  I can only imagine that idiots are mass deleting things from their user/library folder and its crushing the call centers at 1-800-myapple.

Of Verona

So I discovered my new favorite band "Of Verona" at a new music festival in Los Angeles (thx @DJMIA).  I have seen them 3 times now in LA and I plan on seeing them again very soon.  They are giving away their EP starting today.  It is really worth a listen and seeing them live.  They are playing at the Viper Room in LA for CHEAP.

Milo Local Shopping

I was hoping to buy a black 32gb iPad2 wifi but I was having trouble finding one.  Shocker.  

After googling around and calling every Apple Store, Best Buy and Target (10 total) I googled again.

I found Milo.

I typed in iPad2 and it did a local search, found 1 in stock at a Radio Shack near my house.  Who knew Radio Shack carries them??  Either way all the other stores I called had only the Verizon 32gb ipads.  I was very happy.

Oh, and there is 1 left at that store ;)

It has come to my attention that All of you on Facebook and Twitter don't know I have a blog.  Grab a friday afternoon coffee on this holiday weekend and spend some time taking a peek.

I shoot a lot of different things, from beauty to fashion, shoe shine shops to Births.

Here is a pic of a dear friend on her labor walk trying to get that little angel out!  It was a fun 36 hours taking photos, napping and eating mexican food waiting for Leon to say hello.

Zeiss Distagon 35mm T* f/2 ZE Lens for Canon EF review

I decided to rent 2 lens to play with, the Zeiss 35 f2 and the 50mm f1.4

This is a screen from from when I was shooting video.

Notice the Sun flare, the colors.. the Ziess have a colored rainbow... interesting.. The sun is also much more controlled.

The 1st one has a filter, see the center of the frame, the large brown 2 circles, that is from the filter and the light bouncing off of the UV filter.

Video exposure was iso100       f8 1/50 second.
White Balance was at 5,000K manual.

There were no lens hoods, the idea was to shoot into the sun.

I shot still raw files as well, but I wanted to show the video screen grabs.

Apple Mail Stuck?

Here is a little tip for you.  It took me some time to figure it out.

If your mail isn't syncing properly you can try getting NEW mail (Shift Command N).  

If that doesn't work lets see if you have any mail actions running.

Hit Command 0 and that will open Activity window.  From there you can click on the red stop signs to stop them.  Then try to get new mail (Shift Command N).

If that doesn't work you can delete your mail preferences (make sure that you take screen grabs of all the settings etc).

It took me awhile to get it all sorted out, I hope that helps you.
